Rolex Flagship Store Stone Design with Luxury Marble
In the Rolex Omotesando and Ginza flagship stores, natural stone plays a major role in shaping the luxury retail atmosphere throughout different floors and functional areas. By combining multiple premium natural stones with precise architectural detailing, the spaces achieve the refined and timeless aesthetic commonly associated with high-end watch boutiques.
The project mainly features three natural stones:
Each material was selected for different spatial functions and visual experiences within the store.

Dark Emperador Marble Applications
Dark Emperador Marble is a deep brown marble with natural light veining, known for its elegant and classic appearance. In this project, it was primarily applied to the second-floor reception area, including:
● Coffee table tops for guest reception
● Window wall details
● Reception desk countertops
● Background wall behind the reception desk
This type of dark marble works particularly well in luxury hospitality-style retail spaces. Under warm lighting, the layered veining creates depth and pairs naturally with metal finishes, wood elements, and soft lighting to establish a calm and sophisticated atmosphere.

Italy Romano Travertine Applications
Italy Romano Travertine is a beige Italian travertine characterized by its natural pores and soft architectural texture.Within the Rolex project, this material was mainly used in the basement VIP lounge areas, including:
● Wall cladding
● Reception islands
● Flooring
● Display cabinets
● Presentation platforms
Compared to highly patterned marble, Romano Travertine creates a softer and more balanced spatial atmosphere. When used across large surfaces, it delivers a warm, understated, and refined luxury aesthetic.

Verde Guatemala Marble Applications
Verde Guatemala Marble is a deep green marble with expressive white veining and a strong visual identity. In this project, it was mainly used throughout the first-floor focal areas, including:
● Store entrance
● Wall surfaces
● Flooring
● Staircases
● Stair handrails
● Reception islands
Because green marble naturally creates a strong visual statement, Rolex positioned this material in the most visible customer-facing areas immediately upon entering the store. This design approach enhances spatial recognition while reinforcing the brand's classic and luxurious atmosphere.

Key Stone Fabrication Challenges in Luxury Flagship Retail Projects
Projects of this level test far more than the beauty of the stone itself.
They require complete coordination between material selection, fabrication, quality control, and installation systems.
Key technical considerations typically include:
★Vein Consistency and Full Slab Layout Planning
Large-scale natural stone applications require detailed slab pre-selection and layout planning to maintain visual continuity across walls, floors, staircases, and custom fixtures.
★Curved and Custom Stone Fabrication
Staircases, handrails, reception islands, and display structures often involve complex curved surfaces and custom stone shaping, requiring extremely precise fabrication techniques.
★Travertine Filling and Waterproofing Processes
Travertine materials require professional pore filling, waterproofing, and surface protection treatments to ensure long-term durability in commercial environments.
★ Stone and Aluminum Honeycomb Composite Systems
Large-format wall panels and lightweight structures frequently use aluminum honeycomb backing systems to improve stability while reducing weight.
★ Precision Cutting, Labeling, and Packing by Drawings
Luxury retail projects operate with strict installation schedules and minimal tolerance for errors. Stone pieces must be precisely cut, numbered, pre-arranged, and packed according to architectural drawings to ensure installation efficiency and final visual accuracy.

From a stone application perspective, projects like the Rolex Omotesando and Ginza flagship stores demonstrate how natural stone becomes part of a brand's architectural identity rather than simply a decorative surface material. The combination of material selection, vein control, fabrication precision, and installation quality ultimately defines the refined atmosphere expected in luxury retail environments.
